About The resort

Cliff Top Club", a high altitude adventure resort, is located in the Garhwal Himalayas of the northern Indian state of Uttaranchal at an altitude of over 10,000 feet in India's most scenic location amid the snow clad Himalayas. The resort provides a 270 degree clear view of the snow covered Nanda Devi range (the highest in india and third highest in the world). Other ranges in sight include Dronagiri, Kamet, Trishul, Neelkanth, Mana, and Mukut . They belong to the snow-line ranges which are covered with snow all round the year.

Clifftop Club has been built on inhospitable terrain over years of painstaking labour incorporating traditional and innovative techniques. Those who brave the drive to the resort are rewarded with a magnificent sight as the resort rises into view from the steep path that leads up to it from Joshimath. For those who prefer to zip up in the cable car, the resort seems like a tiny speck in the vast snow or grass covered expanse of the Himalayas, as the season may be. The warm hospitality however belies the tough weather conditions under which the CTC staff battle the forces of nature to provide comfort to the guests.

The resort is paradise in winters for skiing and sledding enthusiasts and for anyone who wishes to venture out in the snow and enjoy snow sports.

In summers, when the snow gives way to carpets of grass and flowers, hikers and trekkers will find numerous marked walks and mountain bike trails. Trekkers to Kuari Pass and the Valley of Flowers prefer to stay on at Clifftop Club at the end of the trek to avail the luxury of hot baths and lavish cuisine. The famous high altitude Gorson Reserve forest (part of the Nanda Devi National Park) provides a splendid backdrop to the resort. The forest is richly inhabited by rare Himalayan wildlife including the snow leopard, musk deer, wild boar, wild cats, rabbits, jackals, foxes, hyena and black bear. Summers are extremely pleasant and the deodar and oak trees add to the fragrant air to promote natural health, which is strongly recommended by Physicians/ Naturopaths/ Therapists.

The nearest Railway Station is Rishikesh / Haridwar which is directly connected from Delhi by Mussoorie Exp and the Dehrdoon Shatabdi, from Mumbai by Bandra-Dehradun Exp. and from Kolkata by Howrah-Doon Exp. and from Lucknow by Gorakhanath/Doon Exp. Rishikesh to Joshimath is to be covered by road.

By Air
The nearest airport is Jolly Grant near Dehradun (280 Km). A helipad at Clifftop Club premises has made the landing of private/commercial chartered helicopters possible. Some guests have already made use of these facilities. A nominal landing fee is charged for a chopper landing.

The Resort is located at over 10,000 ft above sea level. Excellent ski slopes and state of the art ski lifts for skiing and snow sports. The National Winter Games are conducted in Auli The resort provides an uninterrupted 270 degree view of Nanda Devi and adjoining ranges. A short trek from the resort takes you to Gorson Reserve Forest where one can revel in the magnificent sunrise views and experience walks in dense alpine forest terrain.. The exciting ride in a cable car from Joshimath to Tower number 8 is the highlight of ones           arrival at the resort. Magnificent views of snow-clad peaks and vast open expanses of snow or grass covered slopes add to the thrill. A day trip to the holy shrine of Badrinath can be made possible if one rises early to avail the first gate of departure at Joshimath. From July to September trekkers to the Valley of Flowers make a stopover at Clifftop Club to experience the luxury of lavish cuisine and luxurious accommodation at the resort to end the trek on a high note.
